Sunroof bolts...
Before I go on a mad this-bolt-stopped-being-produced-before-most-of-y'all-were-born quest, does anyone happen to have this bolt laying around that they don't need?
Part number: 54124195988 RealOEM/Pelican are saying that it was replaced by another bolt, but unless I'm not reading the diagrams correctly, there's no way that bolt can be used where I need it. I didn't lose it by the way, my car ate it. That's the story I'm sticking to. In a related note, the rails that the inner panel live on that slide it where it's needed, and the plastic pieces associated with this, I need as well. Apparently Pelican doesn't want to supply these. And for a funny, this is what my sunroof hole currently looks like: ![]() ![]() Insane cat air-mattress it seems.

Amber, BMW of South Atlanta is showing that it's still available.
Torx Bolt This link will get you into an "official" BMW parts directory which is sometimes more accurate than the pseudo directories on realOEM or BMWfans. I've been going here to verify info from RealOEM when that site has had limited or conflicting info. I've bought other parts from them and they ship quick. Their on line prices are a bit more than Pelican, but much cheaper than walk up at the dealer counter. P.S. Is the black cat an omen for this project?

Thanks guys!! Definitely bookmarking that site. Here are pictures of the bolts I need:
![]() The one to the left is one that holds the cassette to the roof; the one to the right attaches the sunroof itself into the cassette, via this little dodad: ![]() The right one is the one I listed the part number for. Are those the ones you have, df? And while we're at it, this is what the sunroof decided to do. It was operating properly until installed back in the car (sans sunroof panel) and the inner liner caught up on something and turned everything pear shaped. Pulled it back out of the car, and here are pictures of what I'm seeing is wrong. Left side: ![]() Right side: ![]() Notice the bottom of the rails on each side. Left side looks complete, is the right supposed to mirror image it, or is that correct? And then up at the lifting parts... Left side: ![]() Right side: ![]() With this set, note the lifting arms in each and the angle the little u-shaped hinge is at. On the left side all is well, on the right the hinge is flat and pulling the arm with it. Any ideas on fixing this short of taking it completely apart again?

i have the entire sunroof assembly. since thre was no power to the unit, i did not take the panel out of the cassette, but i am pretty certain that i could manage to get them apart.
the pic i posted was of the fasteners for the assembly to the roof. i also have the clips for the rear if you need them. i noticed your were missing, but am not certain if they were not there intentionaly or not. how many fasteners do you need?? df

I only lost one of those, but two would be a good idea if you don't need them.
you have the rear thingies too? In the pictures was everything that I have assembled. I'd definitely appreciate those as well. I must say, you are a life saver! Sent from my SCH-I405 using Bimmer App

I don't *think* so. Pelican's write up calls it a "plastic guide piece". I don't see how it could qualify for full-on mechanism status as it doesn't do anything but sit there and hold something.
Btw, my car broke my finger.

Finger. She smashed/bent it working on her brakes. Swollen and very sore. I told her to see a Dr.

Yep, I saw that one a while ago.
My finger. Chad said I should go to the doctor too but no insurance and xrays are expensive. Not to mention they'd just put the same splint on it as I'm wearing now. Its ok, the splint is helping with the swelling and pain for the most part. I'll live I was just being whiney. Sent from my SCH-I405 using Bimmer App

uh-oh!!
![]() sorry to hear that you don't have ins, but yeah, even if it were broken the dr would splint it and tell you to ice it. it's not like it's something that you can put a cast on. just make sure it's straight, or you'll possibly wind up with a crooked digit. ![]() df

I'll tell ya this, Amber has at least as high a pain tolerance as I do, maybe more, and I've got a real high tolerance. I've seen her knock the hell out of her knuckles and not even flinch. Broken finger? Meh.
