visor lamp switching ?
How do! First post here by a new E39 2003 M5 owner. Yea! It's fault-free xpt for the NF lamps above the driver's visor. (Boo-hoo!) Any info on typical lamp circuit fault modes and usual fixes would be appreciated!

Welcome to Bimmerfest! I've moved your thread over to the E39 M5 forum. You should be able to get help in here from our other M5 owners. Also try searching, it is possible this was already covered.
Good luck, Tim |

Tim: thnx for the advice and the welcome. I thought - that's what happens when I and select italics (it appears that the extra squiggles go away as it appears onsite) - I was on the M5 forum. Oh, well, I'll figure it out! I did try a search but cannot confirm that it was thorough. Cheers, Stephen

Visor lamp fix (?): repeatedly squeezing the visor in the area where the sliding mirror cover retracts appears to clean the switching contacts or otherwise restore the illumination function. At least in this case. Problem solved. Visor is still floppy on the pivot hinge.
