New Member 2008 535xi Key Program

Hello All, I am new to the forum and new to the BMW team. First thing I LOVE MY CAR and will never go back to a regular car again. I have only one key and i found many websites that sell replacement keys and valet keys that state all i have to do is program them. Can i buy one from a aftermarket source or do i have to go to the dealer and if so how much might the cost be? I live in the 5 boros of NYC.

No. Do not buy those. Only dealer can order the keys for you. The keys are actually programmed from the factory. You need to prove your ownership with registration and ID.

I just called local BMW dealer and was instructed since my car doesn't have comfort access I don't have to bring it in for programming I can do it myself. Now the question is how do I do that?
