Because of EWS...the local BMW dealership is where you get another key. Keys purchased off ebay or other used or blank keys...WILL NOT be coded to your car's EWS system, thus can't start the car. There are some aftermarket sellers that have the equipment to cut as well as program the EWS transponder inside the key...but you'll have to thoroughly check that they know what they are talking about as well as have the equipment to do so. They will have to somehow get the ISN (individual serial number) that is burnt into your car's DME/ECU or EWS control module in order to burn/write that info into a new key that has an unwritten chip inside it.

Your remote key has 3 features:
  • EWS - immobilizing feature
  • FZV - (remote) central locking
  • DWA - anti-theft alarm siren system

The other non-remote key(s) available also have the EWS transponder inside them...thus the keys you see on eBay etc...won't work if you don't have a way to get the key blade correctly cut as well as a transponder chip inside it that has the specific ISN that was given to your car when it came off the assembly line:
