X5 Steering Drifting & Hard to Hold Road
Has anyone experienced steering issues where steering is stiff and hard to hold the lane or road? Replaced front control arms, upper rear control arm, had an all wheel alignment, still does not feel right and is a fight to drive.

Have someone check the power steering pump, is it filled with fluid? Is the belt on the power steering pump taut? You may have a bad belt tensioner, or a bad pump, or the filter at the bottom of the power steering reservoir is clogged.

Thanks. Can the filter at the bottom of the power steering reservoir be changed?

Not really, you just replace the entire reservoir. There's a Youtube Video on how to replace the reservoir. |

Do you have the factory size wheels and tires on the x. If so try underinflating them for a short trip and see if it feels better . Could be the tires themselves. I have 255/55/18 run flats and if i run them around 35psi it really follows the road and is hard to keep in a straight line .. If i lower them to like 26psi it drives straight and easy... Cant hurt.
