Last night for brief period I was on BMW's web site configuring a Sport Line, when I went to select interior options it showed M Steering Wheel as being a standard feature. I assumed it was a glitch but now reading about others receiving the M Sport wheel maybe it's not all that improbable considering the fact you can order a 320 with a Sport Pack that includes an M-Sport Steering wheel plus sport seats and anthracite headliner for 1K... so, IMO it would reasonable for BMW to include a M Sport Steering as being part of the $2500 Sport Line.

Correct. I ordered DHP with Adaptive M Suspension. Car just got built. As per other thread, no M steering wheel for me.

If that is true, I just missed out on it by a matter of weeks, but I just went to BMWUSA.COM, and when I configure a 335 sport line with DHP, the regular sport steering wheel with red stitching still shows.

It isn't unreasonable to conclude that they might start bundling the M steering wheel with the sport line, but I seriously doubt they are doing it now. I believe it has been just random accidents up until now.

However, when the 2014 models come out, that's when you might see a change. Might being the key word there...

I have seen for myself today a 328 sportline with M steering wheel, in the built sheet it no mention on it, as it turns out another poster has the same M steering wheel on the sport line.

IT turns out that those are vehcile built in Rosselyn, South Africa. Either they mess up or supplys dry up and they put those wheel in.

I attempted to purchase the M sport wheel as an aftermaket part from BMW parts at my selling dealership Cost was ridiculous but I really wanted it so was willing to bite the bullet.

I was told NO..they will not guarantee its functionality due to it not being a part available as std. or optional on a sportline vehicle. Never really got a clear cut reason why they could not guarantee its full functioanlity but the service manager said it might have something to do with the vast number of different wiring harneses they use for varying vehicles.

Personally, I think that is BS. Unfortunately, I am not a big enough gambler to bet 2K ( new airbag needed) on its working without a little more assurance

What is even more distressing as of this date. The M sport wheel is part of $1350. sport package on the 320i. And I can't even buy one for almost twice as much $$ for my 335.

Buy it on eBay UK, the wheels comes up almost weekly.

Mein Auto: 2013 328i Sportline
I ordered my sportline and it came with a M wheel. It's because it was an M sport to begin with and the dealer switched it to a sport line when I ordered my car. Same thing happens when you build an m sport on the configurer and the switch to a sport line on the bottom of the page. The M wheel stays. It's a glitch in the system...

Mine also came with body color mirrors lol (factory error)

Hmm... interesting! My car is coming from SA right now. It's a 335i sport line. Really starting to wonder about this now!

I have seen those on e-bay. Dealer told me programming is also required. If I knew for sure all functions would work (or if anyone has already tried this upgrade, please advise), I will buy it next time one pops up.

It is indeed a glitch in the system. If you build a sport line to begin with, no M steering wheel. If you switch the build to an M (or start with an M to begin with), then go back to a sport, the M steering wheel stays in the build picture.

If their web configurator is linked to their ERP, it could be a hint about what's going on. But it could very likely just be a coincidence.
