Were 1999 and 2000 E39 brake designs different?

My 1999 540i build date is 10/98 and I have front calipers, rotors, and pads from a 2000 540i with a build date of 07/99 but my shop mechanic said it doesn't fit because the calipers are touching the rotors...? what was the change in brake upgrade between 1999 and 2000? can any provide a pic and part#, I'd like to install the brakes from the 2000 540i.

You need the mounting brakets from the new car also for the calipers not to touch the rotors .

Do you have a link to the mounting brackets? I can't find this part online.

I've verified the part numbers and I've got the 04/2000 calipers carriers and 04/2000 rotors. Is there anything else I'm missing? these are going on my 540i build 10/1998

I just noticed my caliper housing reads 60/30. I've seen pics of other caliper housings reading 60/30/324? Anyone else missing the third value (rotor size in MM)?
