E39 (1997 - 2003)
The BMW 5-Series (E39 chassis) was introduced in the United States as a 1997 model year car and lasted until the 2004 when the E60 chassis was released. The United States saw several variations including the 525i, 528i, 530i and 540i. -- View the E39 Wiki

I couldn't find a link for E39 sunroof repair. So here is one if needed.

Thanks for the link. I was about to check if it was in the bestlinks, but I have worse problems at the moment (all the latest updates are lost) ... but here's what I have doing a /sunroof in the past in the bestlinks:

- How to repair & reset the sunroof (1) (2) (3) & how to fix sun roof rattles (1) & how to test & fix moonroof leaks (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) causing water on the front passenger carpet & how to remove the roof headliner (1) & how to free up a stuck open sunroof (1) (2)

Mine continues to work well with no rattles after 6 years after the cassette was replaced by BMW.
I don't use it ever.
