2012 E92 328i Brake Installation - Question RE Rear Brake Pads and Insurance
Looking to swap out the OEM front brakes on my 2012 E92 328i Coupe for either the yellow BMW Performance brakes, or the black 135i brake kit.
Both kits are identical AFAIK, with the exception of rotor surface and caliper color. The former is listed by BMW for the E92, the latter is not. Two questions: 1. Apart from warranty issues, could I be facing any insurance issues if I have the 135i brake kit installed (since BMW doesn't list it for the E92), even though it's virtually identical to the BMW Performance brake kit? 2. When installing either of the two kits, would I need to do anything to the rear brake pads (such as replacing them, or matching them somehow to the front pads) to retain bias as much as possible, or is the difference negligible? |
