Just purchased a 750Li

Hello guys. Seems like forever since I've been on here. Just got rid of my 650 convertible and purchased a 2009 750li. Love the extra space that's for sure. I will post pictures tomorrow to post. Car is an 09 with 36000 miles. Space grey on black. Definitely has some cool features that my 6 didn't have. I have a couple questions about the car. I've searched the forum but didn't see much, however I wanted to know what are some common problems these cars have had. My cars manufacturing date was 2/24/2009. Car is still under warranty so I would like to get any work fixed before it ends at the end of the year. Second is I was trying to update my idrive tonight and downloaded someone's update software but I don't have the "software update" button in my settings. Can someone let me know if I can update the system. Third, where can I find someone in nor cal that can code my car to unlock some features. I've read somewhere here that some features can be unlocked by coding the system.

Some upgrades that will be coming very soon:
M-Sport front and rear bumpers
Custom exhaust
Dinan stage 2 or 3 software
Dinan intercoolor
21" or 22" full face wheels
Possible LCI headlight and tail light upgrades
H&R lowering springs
And last is thinking about wrapping the car in a matte color

Very soon hopefully. Anyone know where I can find a wheel chart for bmw wheels. I want some full face 21" stocks.

Anyone know where I could possibly get the car coded to get the digital reading of the mph on the dash. Also I read somewhere they can code the lock unlock to fold the mirrors. I'm in nor cal, Sacramento area.

Sadly, you will not be able to do a update on your own with the 2009 750. The 2010's recieved the combox upgrade which is leaps and bounds better for phone/media integration and allows user software updates for the latest phones and software. You can upgrade to the combox but it is a retrofit. I did this and a CIC upgrade for my F01 so I have time shifting on my satellite radio now also. Definitely worth it if you plan on keeping your car a while.

If you want to retrofit or mod your software with coding, talk to Patryk, he is at info@bimmer-tech.net He can do amazing things with coding and retrofits. I have worked with him a bunch for my F01.

I checked out their website for sometime now. I will be looking into doing some of that work once I get the exterior completed.

How about problems. Anyone know of any major problems or issues with these cars. I tried getting the Extended warranty on my finance but dealer couldnt put it on so im forced to finish my current warranty and come out of pocket in a year to get it. Want to know if itll be worth it in the future.

Just dropped the car off at the dealer. Couple things were feeling wrong with the car. Hopefully they fix the car and then I can start my new Project7

I would if I were you, after getting this car (First BMW) I've learned on here and other sites how complicated these cars are. I just got done reading a long term test from Edmunds (click - link) and the suspension is nuts! Thats not even the complicated electronics, all the small motors, and other things we have packed inside.

Me too just got my 2009 750i from carmax and bought extended warranty for $2200 on paper the warranty looks very cool almost if not bumper to bumper with $50 deductible for 6 years or 125k miles.

B_RASHED, i'm joining to your question about someone who can help with some decoding and installing combox but in the LA area.

Email Patryk at info@bimmer-tech.net He has 2 install places in LA. I have used him and he is excellent. I live in San Diego, can just took the car up there. He is probably the leading expert in coding/retrofits in the world.

Probably a good idea when you're dealing with a twin turbo engine. I've seen 1 or 2 expensive problems on the forum come up with the turbos, but most of the F01's are still generally new so I'm not sure what problems could be expected within the next few years as they age.

Here is a story for you...

Bought an audi A8 in 2010 it was a 2007 model with 45K miles, everything was great till i hit the 51K miles then...All electronic system died (audio, Nav, windows etc..) took it Audi and they were nice enough to remind me that warranty expired after 50K miles and repair which included replacing all of the on board computers will ONLY cost me 11,700 (dollars NOT pesos) drove away stopped at a Mercedes dealer did a trade on a used S550 and got full KBB trade in value on the A8 now to the Funny part...I bought the A8 from a used cars dealer, about 1 week after the trade i get a call from the dealer i originally bought the A8 from telling me he was at the auction and bought that car again asking me if i know what is wrong with it

Moral of the story, GET THE WARRANTY!!!!!

Sounds like my life. I'm going to go drop the car back off to the dealer tomorrow again because they already had to replace the fuel line that was faulty and charge the battery because it kept going low. Battery issue still occurring so I'm going in to replace it. And try to get a deal on the extended warranty. Anyone know about how much the (dealers cost) is for the warranty. I want to deal with them but want to know what's good
