Mein Auto: 2010 328I Coupe
2010 328i Stereo ??

Hello All !

Last month I bought a 2010 328i from Scottsdale, AZ and drove home to Tucson. While driving I tend to listen to my stereo on the high side and noticed that the sound breaks up and sound like I hit a boulder. The sound is terrible when the volume is on the high side. My BMW only has 5 speakers and I noticed that many threads or articles should 8 or more speakers. I went to the Crutchfield web page and noticed that they do not support my 2010 BMW. What can I do to improve the sound. Is there a pin out for the stereo connector. I probably would like to add an AMP.

First, identify the system you have. Five speakers doesn't sound right at all.

Next, Go Here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=641323

Swapping the head unit is not required to get great sound, and causes problems (loss of PDC gongs, dealer requires head unit be connected to update car firmware, etc) if removed.

MusicarNorthwest has a done a lot of systems, and can provide you a plug & play solution for DIY, or can supply the components & recommend an installer in your area.

Good luck!

Hey Dmatre !

Thanks for your helpful reply !!! I forgot to mention that I have 2010 328i coupe and Yes it has only 5 speakers, 1 in each door, 2 in the rear seat area (left and right panels) and 1 under the driver's seat and that's it. There's no center speaker like the one shown in one of the threads. Furthermore, there's no tweeters in the side mirrors so I must assume BMW really down graded the 2010 BMW's coupe. If I can get the correct pins outs and the connectors I could designed something up. I'm retired Missile Systems Engineer and I know I can kluge something up. Thanks for the advice I truly appreciate it. Best Regards/Marcelo

I think you better take a math class

I think you better take a math class
because it adds up to 6
one under each front seat.

FYI

the above post will tell you most of what you need know there are a lot
of system options described in it .
Also a lot of DIY install procedures.
No need to kluge or cut wires.
You can get it kit from MuisicarNw if you piece it together yourself get a
Technic Harness at least.

The OEM pods and trim that hold the tweeters cost less than 50 bucks per side and go in really easy.

Good Evening CTUNA !

I stand corrected thanks for pointing it out. Thanks for posting the links, it has some valuable information I can utilized. I'll take you advice and try to hunt down the mirror pods for the tweeters. Moreover, I'll look into the Harness as well. Once again Thanks ctuna !!!!! Best Regards/Marcelo
