Mein Auto: Z4
z4 dashboard not working

We took the dashboard out of my 2006 z4 as the lights were being funny on the dashboard.we checked them out and put it back in to find the display that says the milage , ect and that shows you the MPG,MPH,temp ect when you press a button issnt working ,its gone all blurred and you cant make sence of it any more. any ideas ,we didnt think we had touched any thing.thanks

Many of the intermittent and random things like this can usually be traced to a loose ground..The thing to do in the event of not having a manual is to look for ground attachment points under the hood on fender and firewall studs. and under the dash on both sides. look for loos wires on studs. if you find one remove it clean with a wire brush just enough to shine it some and re install. I am a bit new to BMWs but have seen this on many vehicles.
