I love my X5 but
Hello im new to this forum. ive owned Bmws for the last 12 years all 5 series until a year ago when I bought my 2012 X5. SO I need some advice I do love the X5 but I miss my 535 with the sports package. That was a lease and went it went back I should have just got another one but it would have been my 4th one in a row so I thought I needed a change. (Change isn't always good) so heres my story and maybe someone can give me advice and I know this is a good problem to have. So instead of getting the 535 again I went for a complete change I bought a 2012 Cadi CTs-v sedan figuring this was a nice change form the 535 a little different but can do all the same stuff, I didn't realize I bought a Race car I mean this thing is a complete Beast it has 556 HP. The problem with that is for one it didn't help the snow problem I live in NJ for 2 the gas milage is so bad but worse than that I need to fill up every day because id do like 30k miles a year. so anyway after a Month last year of this I missed my bmw so much I went amd leased the X5. I now use that most of the time because I have 3 kids and this works good with hockey and all there other stuff. So the Caddy now sits a lot I treat it like a show car problem I have with that is its a 70000 car sitting in garage plus its an automatic and a Sedan. Now I can just keep things like this money is not a huge problem but I have my first son getting his license in a few months and hes not touching my cars so he needs a car plus my wife has a 2012 acura MDX again all good problems but im still not happy with these cars. I feel I could easily have just one car like the X5 and sell the Cadi that's the smart thing I know but then ill have a milage probem. Im not sure if I can deal with just the X5 because for work and commuting am always by myself and I like a car better. So anyway im looking for some advice maybe like give my wife x5 and sell mdx and cts v and I get a 550 x drive, or maybe get ride of cadi v and get more of a fun car or just keep everything. I have to say I like the cadi v but its no bmw.

- Keep the MDX (nice car!)
- get rid of the caddy - exchange the the X5 for a 5 series of your choice - buy a (used) Honda CR-V with a manual transmission and teach your son how to drive ... My 2 cents ...

+1. Except I would make my son make his own money and buy a used Honda something with manual gear.

I recommend keeping the MDX and get 5 series. There is no point in keeping something that bugs you. The longer you wait, the more it will eat you up. Sent from my LG-P999 using Bimmer App |

The CTS-V is one hellava lot of fun, but very thirsty.

Keep the caddie, sell everything else and move to Arizona. Oh yes, make the kid get a job and buy his own used Toyota/Honda/Subie/VW with a stick. You can help with the insurance -- to be sure he has a good policy more than anything else.
