M3 engine Oil
Just bought an 2005 M3, dealer put in the 10w 40, and he said it should be fine, and said my next oil change is after 7500 miles.
Is he right? i know it should be 10w 60. Should I wait or change it right away to the correct oil? howie |

Yugo? Correct oil is Castrol TWS 10w-60. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-10...m5-e9x-m3.aspx My car, I'd take it back and politely but firmly ask for the oil to be changed to OEM spec. |

But only do this if you like your engine.
![]() What kind of dealer? A BMW should know better. And the basic oil change interval is 15,525 miles. Or 12 months, whichever comes first. When you first start the car, it should show the number of miles to the oil change in the window where the odometer reading is. If it doesn't read close to 15,525 miles, have them reset the indicator, unless the oil change was done due to the 12 month period. In that case, let the oil change indicator keep running.
