Question Brake Light Confusion

Got the brake light switch fail message on my 94 E36 325ci. Changed out the brake light switch and the bulb. Now getting brake light failure still. Why? Could I have blown fuse or
other brake light electrical issue? Thanks.

So to clarify, are you getting the bulb out warning, or the brake circuit failure?

Brake Light Failure

It is now the failure notification. My bulb seems to be actually going out on the drivers side as well. I changed it and it seems to still not be working at all times.

Check the fuse. Then clean the contact points with the bulb from the housing. It's probably corrosion.

Smile Contact Points from the Housing

I gently cleaned the contact points by sanding a bit and wiping. Seems the brake light is functioning again. Thanks for this pointer!!! Much appreciated. Can't wait for some Spring Weather and to put the top down!!!!
