Back to BMW, now X5 35d
Hi All,
I finally get back to BMW family, this time we go with 2010 X5 35d. We need bigger car with decent milage. Since we love BMW we give it a shot and it won with standard choice of Toureg and ML350. We've got CPO 2010 X5 35d, Monaco Blue with red (more like orange) interior, with Premium, Sport, Cold Weather, Rear Climate control packages. Pretty much 100% match what we were looking for in terms of options and colors. Our delaer almost pushed us to buy 2012 leftover but for like 11K more. Not much of difference but since we already went 10K more from original budget we decided to go with CPO. I did drive it from St Louis, MO to Charlotte past weekend. I had average 26.4 mpg with ~ speed 80-85 mph. Not bad at all. We all love this car and hope this will continue ![]() Will have some questions soon as I want to add mud flaps and tow hitch with DIY way.

Lots of tow hitch discussions, I DIY'd an OE hitch using a tutorial on xoutpost I believe, it was not bad at all.
I haven't seen much on mudflaps though I'm sure you can search but can't be too hard. Glad you are enjoying it, always great to see more d's on the board. 14 months and 23k miles later and I still love mine as much as the first day. Jay

I am picking my 2013 35D this Thursday or Saturday. Got it with the premium/technology package. Anything I have to be aware of. Moving back to the BMW family after 5 years on a Lexus ...
I presume I paid good - 54200+taxes. I am leasing it 3 years and will buy it after that ... |

My wife and I have had a 2012 X5 335d for about a year and a half now. Overall we're pretty pleased with the performance and the mileage (avg. about 23 around town and 26-27 on the highway). Only a few minor annoyances to speak of: the pully bolt recall and the malfunctioning smart phone snap in adapter come to mind. But, performance-wise, we're pretty happy. Unfortunately, shortly after taking delivery at Spartanburg, the price of diesel went up and never came down much. It's now 60 to 70 cents per gallon higher than regular gas.

Hopefully I do not have to worry about the bolt recall. I am looking forward to the ownership this weekend.. Maybe will have to do a lot of chores as an excuse to drive ... |
