Definitely.

Although it is my hope that BMW's next halo car effort burns fuel and not carry batteries for propulsion.

It is interesting to note both brands you mentioned above are part of VW family, which just began to advance a very successful business model pretty much designed by bean counters.

Author of the article was a chick (Julie Halpert). Form your own conclusions.

The photos in the article weren't even taken by the "Fiscal Times", which may not even have a staff photog. (Though Ms. Halpert likely takes nice shots from her iPhone and posts them on Instagram). Glomming shots from indianautosblog.com? Please.

Ms. Halpert clearly has no illusions of winning a Pulitzer. But thanks to us, the Fiscal Times got a lot of hits on their site that their sh*tty pseudo journalism really didn't deserve.

Maybe I missed something, but Ferrari is not in the VW fold, it's in the Fiat/Alfa family.

Good point, although I have read similar complaints among the Fiat family.

"Chicks" are now the majority car buying decision makers. "Dudes" are dropping in numbers, especially those who continue to cling on being dudes

Ignore him. He's trolling by bringing a tangent topic from another thread in hopes to incite another debate/argument here.

Yikes....so Halpert trolled us all (including some Jeep, Honda, Lexus and VW devotees).

it's true though, the F32 is not a car that is aiming to please, especially those accustomed to reviewing hondas, toyotas, and other common cars. it's not a car that is going to save anyone any gas or money. i can understand in the eyes of the hipster, green, mainstream, budget conscious crowd it is not a "winner". but I honestly hope they only come out with more reviews like this, it will keep those kinds of people away from having the same car as me

Like you, I do not want to see certain BMW's become so mainstream that we start seeing them go head-to-head with Accords and Camrys. It's just that the tone of the "review" gives the impression that the styling (regardless of how it drives) of the "worst" cars at the show were not wild enough for her tastes.

well some people just dont understand the aesthetics of subtle, understated, minimalist design. some companies try hard at doing it and fail, basically producing boring overpriced boxes of cars - look at audi. they're either really boring or extremely flamboyant and ridiculous (R8).

It shows how old fashioned some of us have become when it comes to understanding what the car companies are going after these days.

Her comments had nothing to do with being hipsters, rather X or Y gens maybe even younger. I have a feeling she likes the new MB CLA.

They are.

And hipsters tend to not be motor heads. They like fixed speed bicycles and drool over the Prius C.

"Christian Lorentzen of Time Out New York claims that metrosexuality is the hipster appropriation of gay culture, as a trait carried over from their "Emo" phase. He writes that "these aesthetics are assimilated-cannibalized-into a repertoire of meaninglessness, from which the hipster can construct an identity in the manner of a collage, or a shuffled playlist on an iPod."[2] He argues that "hipsterism fetishizes the authentic" elements of all of the "fringe movements of the postwar era-Beat, hippie, punk, even grunge," and draws on the "cultural stores of every unmelted ethnicity" and "gay style," and then "regurgitates it with a winking inauthenticity".

sounds like audi drivers TBH.

Prius is likely above X/Y gen's pay grade. Most people I come across who drive Prius are 40 and up. Prius is not a cheap car, new or used. Besides I doubt Hipsters lust over cars like the MB CLA.

If you believe wikipedia, Gen X DOBs start in the early sixties. In other words, there are 45+ year olds who count as Gen X-ers. Btwy, the Prius starts at $24-25K MSRP.

Yet if you believe the same, they start at mid 80s, makes them 20 to 30.

Come, your post about the Prius is right above, and you didn't say "or younger." You said "or younger" for the article. But I give you the 2/3 anyway since maybe half of X Gen-rs are also under 40. So you were probably between 3/4 to 4/5 right
