Why do think the engine is running hot? Any warnings in the cluster? If not, then nothing is wrong with your car... Water pump/ thermostat is a common failure in your engine, but you would have visible symptoms.

Define "hot".
![]() As far as I know, the 07 328i does not have a temperature gauge, so how do you even know how hot the car is? (I think perhaps the Wagons or Coupes had it, but can't recall.)

I'm confused why based on the information given so far, you would come to the conclusion that your "engine is really hot."

I opened the hood to check lights n it's hotter than most engines would at that time I'm just making sure there's nothing wrong with car, didn't buy it from bmw. And since no gauge on inside just making sure.

Those cars without the gauge have two dummy lights on the dash. The manual explains this in more detail but the summary is that a yellow light comes on at elevated temperatures with a warning on the display. If the temperature continues to rise to a higher threshold, a red light comes on, equivalent to being "in the red" on the gauge. At this point, the vehicle should be safely stopped and the engine shut off.
