So it's not taboo by BMWFS to drop the price on their residual if you were to want to buy out your car at the end of a Lease? Good to know, just for my own knowledge so I'm armed with info when my Lease is up (you never know, and the more viable options the better).

It's never taboo to ask and some companies do it and some don't. If you plan to keep the car, it's a great way to do it. With MBUSA, I started talking to them 2 months before my lease ended. My residual was $33K or something and they had offered to discount by 10%. So I bought the car off lease for around $30K and they financed for roughly the same payment as my lease payment.

If you don't intend to keep the car this doesn't make sense.

And some companies don't even consider it. A lot depends on the timing of a new model, how the company is doing overall, economy, etc. I tried this with my wife's Acura and they laughed. Generally companies with strong resale values won't do it and don't need to do it.

When my e60 lease was coming to an end, F10s where about to come out, BMWNA offered me 3K off residual without me even asking. I was not interested though
