Traffic sucks here in the DC area as well. We just made the #1 traffic bad spot in the US this year. I still wish my 550i was a manual. The traffic doesnt bother me in my 350Z which is 6sp man.

LOL, I don't. Once I hit the Sport button and mash the pedal I know I can shift faster than any manual

I've had a weird mix, especially after marriage when space became more of a concern.

Hey, another Saab guy!! I had three myself including a Viggen but it is too hard to work on them or find someone in this area that works on them locally. Very nice list you got there

My brother used to get GM employee deals so went with Saab which was owned by the General back in the day. Got out of Saabs when he didn't get the discount anymore. Front wheel drive is not that fun compared to rear drive. Now that parts are getting tougher to find, it a more than niche brand.

Oops- forgot about a 2009 Corolla we had for a year...nobody wanted to ride in it, so we dumped it.

I don't think those of us with long lists is really typical in the US, but for enthusiasts? It's very common. Whether we're called "gearheads" or "petrolheads" the love of cars leads you to constantly change what's in your garage simply to experience other cars you desire. I know that's the case for me, on average, since I was 16, I have gotten a new car every 7 months. Very few have been brand new, but they have almost all been enjoyable (except that Bereta, still don't know what I was thinking, even though it was cheap)

Of the four BMWs I have owned, I like the 535 most, perfect balance, the 3 is too small, the 7 is too big. But I got to say the 3.0 twin turbo in the 535 is no match to the 4.8 V8 in the 7 in terms of pickup. with the 7, I could go from 70 mph to 135 within seconds, but not with the 535.

That's a very good way of putting it. I know that if I keep thinking about a car that excites me at the time, it won't belong before I own it.

Exactly, if I want a car I will own it eventually, just sometimes I have been lucky enough that the opportunity, the cash, and the timing have combined to allow me to buy and own most of the cars I have wanted when I wanted them.
