Your favorite burger?

This is a pretty nice website listing various pictures of Kobe Beef Burgers.

I don't know my burgers, but I'm going to grind meat for the first time ever tonight, and make cheeseburgers using this video as my inspiration. I decided not to use the short ribs, just brisket/sirloin at about 20% fat, I'm leaving out the crisped salami, and I drew the line at homemade catsup (whatever I didn't use tonight would probably get wasted). My pickled red onions are delish though with all kinds of spices, and I did pick up whole grain English muffins. Wish me luck.

I've had many good burgers in my 52 years on this rock.

This I know for sure:

A)
In-and-Out is the most OVERRATED burger in the fricking world! Good gravy people!? Is it because it is in California?! The wait for the burger and the burger itself sucks! Get out more if you think In-and_Out is good.
B)
I make the best burger. Just ask me or my wife.

I don't know what a Kamado grill is, but I can make a great cheese burger with one lighter alone. (Mind you, they would be very small, thimble-sized cheeseburgers but I don't need no stinkin' grill to make a good one! )

Agree with A. Even though there was ZERO wait in either Vegas or Dallas, the burger still sucked. In defense of Cali, I don't think it's about the burger. Like The Varsity in Atlanta.. you're there for nostalgia. And gas (the bad kind).

And I disagree with B... and Bee...

The best burger is a toss up between the Twisted Root in Dallas and Thurman Cafe in Columbus, OH. And I forgot The Vortex in Atlanta. Anywhere you can get a burger called 'The Triple Coronary Bypass' (with a fried egg) just has to make the list.

I think people misunderstand the California attraction to InNOut. Are they the best burger out there? Of course not, nowhere close. But for a fast food burger, it's tasty and simple and honest, and beats the crap out of McD/BK/etc.

That's true. I had a *different* offer on SuperBowl Sunday. Is this guy or where we are familiar to you?

Thurmans in Columbus OH. So good it made me sick for 2 days after. I had to finish it since it tasted so good.

5 Guys is the best chain joint for a burger.

I agree with A in principal, talking about all chain restaurants in general.

But I disagree with B and with everybody else who disagreed with B because the best budget is the one I make, in my kitchen, on a flat cast iron skillet!

At least I can say it now because by tomorrow, Ilovemycar is going to report that his home ground, Michael Symon's recipe, is the best burger in this thread. And that will be a little hard to argue about.

that looks like a splendid burger... and it comes with fries... can't stand potato chips with my burger....

We have a local chain here called Smash Burger - their burgers are the best around here - but their fries suck... the fries at 5-guys are great - and the 5-guys burgers (unless customized) - are just a sloppy mess - their "basic" burger is just too "messy and wet" - and not in a good way imo.

SmashBurger:

Their chocolate shakes need to be more "chocolatey" though - they're just "brown" and have a heavy vanilla taste imo - I want something that tastes of chocolate to actually taste of chocolate!

The American "Kobe" beef is not really Kobe beef. Just some legal excuse to call that Kobe. I had what they claimed to be a Kobe burger in a restaurant on 2nd Ave and the taste was just BS. I would have rather a ground chuck Angus in a heartbeat instead.

This. No way I'd buy "Kobe beef" in America that wasn't imported. Here we crossbreed some Wagyu with Angus and treat them crappy like the rest of our cattle and sell it for ten times as much. No thanks.
