Lease Inception Fees

For the folks who have recently leased their f10 535 or 550 with BMW FS, can you tell me what acquisition fee (bank fee) the dealer charged you? Thanks.

I ordered at the end of November. My acquisition fee was $725. My understanding is that this is non-negotiable.

Mine was $925. The finance shop at the dealership normally adds to the money factor, charges documentation fees, and/or adds to the inception fee. You can challenge any of these practices when reviewing you deal. Some dealers will roll-over, some won't. I think it depends on how much profit the sales manager knows he is getting on the deal, since it will come out of his end of the deal.

Agreed.

I thought he was asking specifically about only the acquisition fee part of it, which was $725.

I also paid $399 in "dealer fee" and $17 in "title/lien fee."

I could have haggled the $399 dealer fee as this is just profit to the dealer. But I was getting the vehicle for $400 over invoice (before applying factory incentives that were in force at the time), so $800 to the dealer seemed fair and fine to me. My money factor was 0.00125, which I think was factory base at the time and had not been increased by the dealer.

I don't know what that is.

I ordered in November. I got the $2,000 year-end and the $750 loyalty.

I don't know if the "BMW app credit" is related, but I am getting BMW apps on my vehicle but it was included as part of the Executive Package offered on the 550i. Does it have something to do with enabling the apps? Is there some kind of monthly or yearly charge with that?

I'm new to BMW apps.

BMW was offering $500, on the 5 series, for downloading their free app on your iphone and setting up a test drive.

$725 - but some dealerships mark it up.

It sounds like I missed this one. But then, I ordered from an out-of-state dealer so I wonder if I would have had to test drive the vehicle at the dealership from which I ordered.

(And I guess this incentive wasn't targeted at someone like me anyway since I already knew I wanted a 5er)

But still, I like saving $500 so bummer.

I actually did the same as you, ordered out of state and knew my car. The only thing I was working on was price and one of the the many sales advisers I spoke with mentioned you just download it and put their name in as you test drove and it produced a code to save you $500. Anyways apparently that wasn't lockable, so I won't be getting it when I pick my car up hopefully in a few days.

As to not completely hijack the thread, I'm paying $299 for dealer fees in addition to the $725.
