ipod issue

When I plug in any model ipod/itouch i can control music from ipod only. I get an error message on the idrive screen that says "title transformation transfer not supported by aux device". I updated software on ipod and tried an itouch all with the same message. It's a bmw 535 2013. Any suggestions?

I have a 535i & my Ipod seems to function corectly from the radio controls (at least with the basic controls I use) & I'm using the standard Ipod/usb cable. No error messages. The Ipod firmware does need to be up to date.

I have tried numerous ipods, some with the latest software updates and a brand new ipod touch...all with the same error message. My bmw dealership tells me that the problem is with the software in the car. I am using the same ipod/usb cable that i took out of my old bmw that worked just fine.

"I am using the same ipod/usb cable that i took out of my old bmw that worked just fine."

The 2013's take a standard iPod cable. When I got my 535, the dealer was saying I needed a "Y" cable they sold. Incorrect. I'm not up to speed with the history of iPod integration in BMW's (I used an Intravee adapter in my previous 2001 740iL), but this seems to be a (welcome) change for 2013. Also, my 2nd gen iPod Nano does not work at all, but my 4th gen does. Hope this helps.

Yeh it's amazing the level of ignorance at dealers. When I went to take delivery of my car a few weeks back their Corporate Sales Manager said I needed the Y cable to connect but I knew he was wrong & I confirmed this by just connecting my iPod with the standard Apple cable...it works fine.

I tried a standard cable and it worked immediately! Unbelievable! I can't tell you how many hours I spent trying to get this to work. The dealership offered to send drivers 45 miles to my house to pick up the car to get this working. Thanks for the help guys! I love bimmerfest!
