Is my key broken?

So, when my car is locked for a while, an hour or so, and I press the unlock button, it doesn't work. Even if i am standing right next to the door I have to press it about 15-20 times before it unlocks. I replaced the battery but that didn't help. Any idea why it's acting strangely?

07 e90 with convenient entry package thing. I don't remember exactly what it's called, I just know I have it lol.

Can you try to open by pull door handle? Or closed by touching special place on door handle?
Is it working this way to open or close? Can you open trunk by pressing the button on key fob?

Try the spare key fob and see if you have the same problem... then you can at least narrow it down and safely assume that the problem is indeed the key, and not the car. I'm not sure if you've already tried this. But just my two cents.

I tried that but it has the same effect. After 10-15 seconds of touching it. It works.

Might need to be 'remarried' to the car?
