Windshield wipers will not turn off. wipers malfunction message
I have a 2004 530i. This morning it decided not to start. after a jump start the car started ok. maybe i left a lamp on overnight.
the problem now is that the windshield wipers will not turn off regardless to what i do to them. i have a few messages in the Idrive. wipers malfunction and restrain malfunction! and the passenger door will no unlock i replaced the battery 3 years ago. (Excide) i am waiting now for the car to recharge then i will do a restart. Are these signs that a new battery is needed? any suggestions thanks,

Many have said on this forum that indeed when a battery is going bad it will cause malfunctions...I myself had my battery changed and my indy did not register it, now I've got the passenger restraint fault and indy says it's very possible that is from battery not being registered
