There is a write up on E38.org, I can snap some pics of my setup. I didn't know how to set it up but honestly it was easy. You could also have an audio shop do it for cheap. That eBay listing is good. All you need is some bass, not crazy amounts that can be heard down the street.

How did you make out with changing the subs? I have some other issues i have to resolve with my '97 740iL, but i know my rear 5" subs are blown and i NEED to get those out of there when i'm done with the repairs on my Vehicle. The only difference is, I dont mind HAVING bass that can be heard when i'm at the beginning of my block. any suggestions, and if possible could you take pictures and document your steps (or at least post a link to the e38.org URL showing the same procedure). Thanks

Have you thought of using the OEM enclosure with aftermarket subs? Ive got a pretty big setup but If I were to go that route, I would cut the top of the OEM box and make a new face with two 6x10 subs... The install would be hella clean

^yea man i wanted to just use the oem sub deck but i feel like it would be easier to just put the single 12 inch in the trunk near the amp and everything. i was wondering this would give a good kick ( Kicker C12 12" Subwoofer Single 4 Ohm 150 Watts ) cuz this is my first sub install because mine are completely blown.

u install it yourself? yea that would be cool if u posted some pics but could i just replace the stock amp ( or could i use it that would be sick ) or do i have 2 amps in although i dont want to have to do that i just want it clean with a sub in the far back of my trunk.

<---GIRL

Yes, the single 12 would be easier and would provide the kick youre looking for with ease The use of the OEM enclosure is just sumthing I thought of that would be hella cool.

my personal setup is 2 Alpine TypeR 15's and many amps....also have replaced many alternators

also, heres probably the best tutorial ive seen on E38 sub installs:

nvm did the research found ut what that means lol. but can someone plese help me on how to wire that setup i posted up top. i dont want to F anything up first try and i have no idea what "channels" and stuff means. i wish it was just as simple as hook the wires into the sub and the amp and thats all that needs to be done.

I was changing my head unit, bought the wiring harness and no sound to the speakers. I was told I have to hardwire the doors because the factory system amy can't be bypassed uding the new head unit you can't connect the speaker wires to the harness. Now I can't get through the door jams to pass wires through the rubber loom. Help
