How much will this cost me?
Long time fan of this site, first time poster. This morning as I was leaving from work I slammed my 2009 3- series into a pole. This is my first accident and the only thing I notice from the collision is my driver side tire took all the hit. Before I call my insurance I was wondering if anyone know how much a damage like this would cost me at the dealer. Sorry the picture is a bit blurry.

Greetings , looks like you got lucky. Wishbone broken. I'm surprised that is the only damage you sustained. Wheel ok?
Have suspension thoroughly inspected. - replace wishbone (depending on mileage, replace both) - alignment recommended At a guess, depending on inspection findings and shop rates, maybe $700. You would do yourself a favor taking the car to a reputable indy and not a dealer.

Thanks man, the wheel is fine. I wasn't speeding when I bummed into the pole. I would definitely ask for rotation. The car is still under warranty and I was planning on using it instead of my insurance. |

Warranty does not cover collision or accident. This one is on you. I do hope that wheel tests OK. if you need another try Ebay, not the dealer.
And unless the bill is a couple thousand dollars or more, don't use insurance - you'll pay more in increased premiums than you get for the work.

any tire/alignment shop can install it. not saying this is your only damage. Only true inspection can tell but this is the broken part.

If he hit something hard enough to break a control arm, it's likely that there's other damage, if only to the front end alignment. At the very least, a visit to a good front end shop and a thorough check-out is a must.

I have to agree, To snap that arm like that; I can not imagine there is not more damaged. I would make sure your ins. company has it gone over well as there will likely be more bent/damaged arms or more.
