Is the Idrive software in the X5 the same
as it is in the new 5 series?. I traded in my Audi and while I wait for my X5, the dealer gave me a 2013 528Xdrive for a few weeks. Just wondering if everything is the same? The steering wheel on the 5 has scroll wheels which the X5 does not, but other than that it would seem the functions are the same?
I read somewhere that BMW updates their software somewhat regularly. Is this true? |

Nope not the same. The 5 series is using more up to date computer and hardwares. The next generation will definitely have the similar technology as the current 5 series (F10)
E70 is way behind with other models when it comes to updates.
