Mein Auto: bmw 320d msport 2006
fuel gauge trouble

Hello,I just bought a 2006 320d msport and after a few days of driving it the fuel gauge is stuck on just over half tank.I gave it some diesel today and still the gauge reads the same.Can anyone shed some light on my problem?

Dump a can of diesel fuel cleaner in your fuel tank. This only has a 50% chance of success, but it is cheap.

I am guessing that you have a problem with one of the fuel level sensors, inside your fuel tank. Your fuel tank is split into two parts. You have two sensors, one on the right side of the tank, and one on the left. You may want to replace both sensors (assuming this is the problem).

To access your fuel pump, fuel filter and fuel sensors, pull up the lower seat cushion of your back seat. There is a round steel access panel on each side. Get complete instructions for diagnosis and replacement from a Robert Bentley service manual, or follow one of the Wiki's in this forum.
