I pulled out my rear deck speakers so I could hear my exhaust more. Best audio upgrade IMO.

Just a 10 inch sub Along with a head unit obviously, The stock speakers boosted up with the head unit and have a goo quality sound, the sub really helps boost the overall performance of the sound system

Ah, yes. Removal of hood liner + 3.5 intake + heatshield = the sexiest intake noise.

yessir, combined with a super loud catback and a 4 hour caravan you have 330 miles of binaural bliss.

Couldn't not having the hood insulation crack the paint with engine heat?

Nah, it's just there in case of fire. In which case, it probably wouldn't do much anyway.

Traffic wasn't that bad. And get an EZ-pass. I would've had a hard time keeping up without it.

The hood insulation isn't fireproofing - it's just there to keep the engine quiet.

I have to say, I'm somewhat happy that none of us are into crazy audio systems with flip-out DVD screens, etc. That stuff is so silly.

If I could find a head unit that was just an AUX/USB port with manual equalizer, RCA's and preamp that's what I would be using.

I have one 10 in my trunk turned wayyyyy down and takes up hardly anyroom. I bought the clearest speakers and got the sub to compromise for absolutely no base.

I've heard that in the event of a fire, those little clips are supposed to release and the insulation will sorta smother the flames.

Doesn't Amber have a double din at the least? I'm uncertain as to flip up...

Wouldn't do any good unless the bottom was WAAAAYYYYY more airtight than it is.

Eh, I doubt it. I mean, maybe, but I've never heard of an engine fire being prevented due to the presence of the hood insulation. If there is oil, gas, and plastic on fire, that sucker is going to burn to the ground.

I have a flip out deck. Would love to get rid of it too. It's so tacky looking.

I want a flat faced front. Aux/USB ports in the back that I can route wherever I please and a CD player behind the deck face. That type is getting really hard to find now.

10" sub with 500 watt amp, 3 way 240 watt speakers with custom mounts (By custom, I mean home made). But for those of you talking about your exhaust systems. I just have my car straight piped using cut outs from the engine to the muffler tip. Take that for sweet exhaust sound.
