Brake light bulb reset on cluster
Hi I'm new to here so bare with me., I've had my brake warning lights come on my cluster, so i replaced all three, they are all new bulbs and correctly replaced, so why is it continuing to show that the bulbs still need replacing? Is there a reset procedure I need to do to make them disappear?.
Many thanks John |

Well, we won't "bare" with you, but we will "bear" with you.
The light control module is sensitive to bulb quality. If you used Chinese bulbs, or those with brass-colored bases, that could be the problem. The bulb sockets could also be dirty or corroded. No need to reset. BTW, what exact warning light came on? It may be pointing to another fault.

Edjack,
on the dash panel both brake lights are illuminated, I use the steel bulbs not the brass ones, I changed all three bulbs as I didn't know which bulb was causing the problem. I made sure all connections were true and looking at the casings, there doesn't seem to be no rust or meltdown from the heat. Cheersv |

How can you see the brake lights and push the brake pedal at the same time? Have someone push the brake pedal while you look at the lights and you will see one that is likely not burnt out, but in a corroded socket or the tip of the bulb is worn. You have a brake light still not lighting-wanna bet?

I backed up to a store window and pressed the brake pedal and all brake lights illuminated, this is what I can't understand about the dash warning lights still on

R U sure its not the tail/parking/running lamps? Does your dash icon distinguish between brake lamps and the others?

Report the legends on "both brake lights."

While he misspelled bear, at least he spelled brake correctly (which is more than some do).
As was stated before, the reason people are asking you to confirm that all THREE lights are lit is that it is VERY COMMON for the third center rear-window brake light to not light up when that dash message shows up. Ask me how I know.

Bluebee sorry for the misspellings, I guess I'm just a dumbass Brit who can't spell
no seriously, all three brake lights are working which makes it the more confusing which made we wonder if I had to reset the panel
