First BMW and Question - 2008 X3 M-Sport

I just bought a 2008 CPO x3 M-Sport with 70K on it. Its like new and has been well taken care of. This is my first BMW and like it a lot so far. I noticed that the tires on it are staggered (as they should be), but they are actually different brands too. Pirelli Scorpion Asymmetrical 235/45/19 in front and Kumho Ecsta 4x 255/40/19 in the rear. They more I read, the more I realize it is hard to find tires for the 19" M-Sport, with a lot of people opting for the same size all the way around. (255/40/19 in a lot of cases) I am also assuming that is why the previous owner put these tires on it. The tires are pretty much new and cant have more than a few hundred miles on them I would think. Would it be worth replacing all 4 tires, being that they are different brands?

I'm currently in a similar dilemma as well and not sure what to do about tires. This is a 2008 M-Sport with 75k. The previous owner installed Pirelli P Zero 245/40/19 on both front and rear. I cannot conclude why that was done since rotation is not an option. In any event, the rear tires are wearing MUCH faster than the fronts and need replacing. No idea how many miles these actually have on them.

I'm finding that matched sets in these sizes are very few. You have the Pirelli, Yoko as HP and Continental as an all-season. I'm being told that the HP tires will last about 15k on the rears. Seems like a lot of cash to drop for that short of a cycle.

The Continentals are less pricey and should provide a longer life cycle, but will the handling suffer that much on the M-sport?

To make matters more confusing, a reputable dealer today gave me the option of going with a 245/45 front and 275/40 rear. This would actually make the vehicle sit higher, which makes me worry about causing problems with the drivetrain and associated electronics. If you notice, there are lots of tire options by going to those sizes.

Either way, this will be a $1300-$1600 purchase but the difference is how many miles I get from the tires.

I'm going with 245/45 on all four based on info from Gary at Tire rack.

Continental extreme dw.
