Sweet! Now that's the type of exhaust sound I like. As a former Borla exhaust owner I know how well the products look and sound.

Too bad Borla didn't have anything for the 550 two years ago.

Might they have something for the 550 now? Or is this just an M5 related announcement?

Will it fit a 2012 550i xdrive "exhaust is almost identical if you are willing to install m5 rear diffuser"

Are you looking for somebody to try it on a 550i xdrive.

Have to admit best sounding exhaust I have seen so far, besides the big dog ak.

Just spoke with Andre from Borla. Unfortunately, he doesn't have any current info regarding pricing or availability for the exhaust at this time. He did, however, take down my info and advised he would be contacting me sometime next month with a more definite release date.

I took delivery of my M5 3 days ago in Ct. At delivery a signed statement was required that I understood the following items would VOID the warranty. 1) a hardwired radar detector and 2) any mod to the exhaust system.
I was leaning towards Borla based on rep and hearing it on many porches.

Andrei, any input?

Our M5 cat-back exhaust does not remove catalytic converters.

Unless an exhaust system removes the cats and is therefore EPA not street legal, installing a cat-back will not void the manufacturer’s warranty. The Magnuson-Moss Act of 1975 is a Federal Law that supersedes any blanket statement that an OEM (such as BMW) forces you to sign upon vehicle pick-up. This law is commonly referred to as the “Car Enthusiasts’ Protection Bill.”

Because our exhaust does not negatively impact the motor and does not remove the factory cats, BMW would have a very hard time in court to hold up the validity of their document. While there are things that can void your warranty, our exhaust will not.

Thanks for the info Andrei, I'll investigate in more detail. The obvious thing is not having a protracted argument over warranty issues, whether the dealer is right or wrong.

would like information on the M5 as I am getting my M5 Diffusor today for my 550ix.... I only need Axle back... Sounds Awesome

Very nice and worth the price.

First time I have heard of anyone signing a contract that will void out their warrantee.

Andre any news for the m5 guys or us 550 guys still best exhaust I have heard

I purchased my M5 about a month ago... and I signed no such statement...
