Bavarian Technic scanner arrived

Purchased the Bavarian Tech san tool. hooked it up to my 2007 335i convertible, it works! cleared a bunch of codes that were related to the ABS and brake light that is intermittent, so if it happens again, hopefully it will direct me to the issue

question is there is a lot of things that can be done with this tool anyone have suggestons of what I can do and what I should not do

also when I start the unit up it for traction control I have a choise
DSC and DXT, not sure which on I have the button on the Dash to turn it off is DTC

DSC for a RWD car, DXT for an xDrive.

ABS and Brake light can be a few things - wheel sensor failing or loose connection can be one, that bad one is ABS pump going bad which is also a bit common unfortunately. Hopefully they don't come back, can occur from a low battery condition also.

You'd better hope. In a domestic that pump is over $500. That's $2700 at the BMW exchange rate.

so if I slam on the brakes and the ABS pump, starts pumping the brakes, wouldnt that mean its not the ABS pump?

No. You could have an electrical anomaly in the pump that causes a code but doesn't prevent the pump from doing its job.
