Need to identify this part!

Can someone please tell me what is or where does this bracket go? I took it off when I was doing my timing and and found laying around but don't know were it goes.

Talking

Go to www.realOEM.com and look at the diagrams. You should be able to ID the part. Just remember where you took it off and look at that section.

It looks like the secondary air valve mount bracket that attaches on too of intake manifold passenger side. There should be an electronic part with two vacuum hoses coming out of it that attaches to this bracket. It screws on to the front bolt near the fuel injector wiring harness.

Did you check both sides? Otherwise it could be bracket for oil dipstick. Do you know anyone else in your area that has an e38 tha t you can look at to compare?

How about driver's side upper timing case. It holds the alternator wire.

Maybe part #22 here. Your best bet is to look at someone else's car.
