Hello guys!
I want to understand when I can schedule my first maintenance. My meter tells me there is about 2000 miles from the first maintenance. And in bay area there seems to be a wait peroid for making an appointment--I heard from a friend that you cannot just show up and expect service on the same day. So I want to ask if you have to wait until this 2000 mile really run out, or you can go and have the maintenance done a few hundred miles or even 1000 miles before it is really due. Thanks a lot!! ![]() ![]() Kevin |

And you're right about a wait line. I had to make my appointment last week just to get it checked out today (last night was an early bird drop off).

Service before your interval/time is not a problem. You just want to get as close to that as possible so you're not wasting money and resources. I'd say you'll want to call a few weeks prior to you reaching that limit and schedule an appoint for a couple weeks out.

Just curious, how many miles are you at for this "first maintenance"?

Woohoo! Just over 16k miles and approximately 1k to go for service when...the dealer just serviced her today! Couldn't be happier, not to mention they resolved the front brake vibration.

Just make an apointment a month out, make sure they put you down for a BMW loaner. In a month you'll be within a few hundred of 'due'.

Make an appointment at least 3 weeks prior especially if you need a loaner. Treat your service advisor with respect and expect the same in return. A good relationship with you SA can come in handy.

I thought maintenance was every 15k? Am I wrong?

I am at 10,500 miles now. What do they do for the first maintenance that would require you to get a loaner? I thought it was just an oil change
