South Carolina residents, tax issue

Please examine your bills closely.

I noticed the assessment value on my 2011 750LI had jumped from last year. Took it to the tax office and discovered it was being coded as an Alpina, even though that did not show up on the tax notice.

Apparently the coding depends on "which website was used to identify the vehicle model" !!!

Saved $500 by taking the time to get it corrected

CA charges you registration based on vehicle value as well, but they don't announce it as an outright property tax. Pretty ridiculous rates. I think when my car was new it was about 1200 for the year. In FL it's between 60-80/year based on weight.

Well you guys have it cheap there. I pay the 3500 usd per year motor vehicles tax based on the engine displacement. I also pay 11USD per gallon
