Time for a 30k service...

Well the car is a about 600 miles from 30k and it's prompted me to go in for a service car check. Nothing is malfunctioning or due yet, so what gives? Is this a regular scheduled service call? Thanks.

I know I will find out more when they read my FOB, but I want a heads up before I venture into the lions den.

lol they had my car for like 40 minutes and kicked it back to me. Basically like a check up. I thought it would be some big deal but it wasn't.

Sounds like a giant waste of time but maybe I can get them to do the battery cable recall even though I didn't get a recall notice yet. Thanks for the update.

Good to know. At my rate of driving 80 miles per week, it will take me another year to reach the 30k mark...crazy!

I drove more than that today I put almost 30k in less than a year (granted I'm betting 50+% of that was joy riding and just enjoying the car )

Supposedly, they'll do this: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...66&postcount=2

I'm at 89,850. I'll be doing the above plus an oil change this weekend, and other stuff via my indy in a few weeks.

Get a life!

I'm blessed with a short commute and the ability to partially work at home. The wife likes to use the GT on weekends and that's how I get to 80 miles per week. In fact, my 4yr warranty may be up (next Sept) before I reach 30k miles, which would mean that the Indy gets the job..

Wow, looks pretty comprehensive atleast on paper, guess I'm going.

As a point of reference based on past auto ownership/services, 30/60/90s were all considered big services, I just wasn't sure BMW with its FOB based service calls held to the same mileage points.

Thanks for finding that for me.
