Wheel Fitment on E83 w/ M Sport Package

My recently purchased '07 X3 with the M Sport package has 18" wheels at all four corners.

Typically on AWD vehicles I keep snow tires mounted on spare wheels, but don't care to be hefting 18" wheels in a cold garage with pending snowfall.

Can someone please tell me what the M Sport package includes? It seems stiff, but my understanding is the springs are as fitted to all '07 X3 models.

Does the M Sport X3 include larger rotors and/or different hubs that will preclude fitment of 17" wheels?

No - same rotors, calipers, hubs and hardware in general as any other X3, so 17" wheels fit fine.

M designation is just cosmetics/badging, Sport is slightly stiffer suspension tuning and 18" wheel size (235/50 tires) as standard, with 19" optional (staggered tires).

Standard tires for 17 x 8 wheels are 235/55's.
For winters, 215/60's are a good option as overall height is very close.

Do you know if the 17" wheels fitted to my E46 325xi will fit my E83.

A salesman at the original-selling BMW dealer suggested these wheels have a different hub bore and offset that will not allow for fitments on my E83.

They'll fit. Same centerbore and very similar offset. Just need to run 17" diameter minimum

Thank you. Just for fun: what's the 18" wheel I'll be removing going to weigh with tires mounted?

Also, I always used anti-seize compound on Audis I've owned. Does that sound reasonable for BMW wheel/hub interface, or will it do damage? In addition, I always used anti-seize compound on the lug-bolt seating surface. Is there any reason to not use anti-seize on the X83?

Most rims weigh around 26 pounds give or take. I'm guessing the tires may weigh around 24 pounds depending on the brand. Michelin and Conti typically make lighter tires than say Dunlop, but much has to do with tread pattern and other variables.

I also use anti seize on the mating surface of the wheel and hub. I don't use it on the lugs themselves because I use a torque wrench and at under 100 ft pounds they never are difficult to remove.

As a general rule if thumb, the x3 wheels specs are the same or similar to all e46s excluding the M3, all e53 x5's, and all e90's excluding the M3. The e90 has a lower offset closer to 35mm, therefore the wheels will stick out another 10mm from the hub.
