Aftermarket amp install in e39
I've installed probably 20-30 successful sound systems...however with the sensitive electrical system in my 97 528i I am a but hesitant. Is there anything I should know before getting started? I have a kicker distribution block coming directly off my battery positive post and a grounding lug directly off the negative post. Is this a good idea ? I know it probably sounds like a stupid question, but no sound is worth damaging my car's electrical system so I have to ask. Also...Ill be running 1000w rms in a 1ohm load. Basically, I'm just wanting to know is there anything that I should do differently than I would if I were doing an install in, say.....a chevy s-10 ??? Should I run a kinetik battery with isolator ??? Or can I just go with the set up I have??? Thanks everyone for taking the time.

Thanks speedking, will do ! I never use caps (people who understand dc voltage know that a cap is worthless) . My amp arrives Teusday. I'm going with the 1ohm load. I'll definitely ground to strut tower (thanks ! ) and I will stay up if I have any other questions. Thanks again !

anything with enough power.. may i ask y jl audio. its more better subs out there then that...all amps come with crossovers lol built in... and no u dont.. all you need is the pinout for ur car and u can get that from e38.org.. and u can use the subwoofer lines from amp to go to new subs.... all you need is one of these to tap into the factory amp sub lines... https://www.google.com/search?q=spea...w=1280&bih=910
I used the stinger and scosche one before and they work good man.. if u need more help just text me or call me 757 777 0622 |

they ok.. but sq sucks and so do the spl... ur paying for the name more then the preformance and stuff... like the warranty alone with the name ur paying for. and the warranty aint all that.... i would had wit with mtx or something more better in sq and spl.... but thats just me.... and i got a audiobahn 6 channel... and i got a jensen mono block..... and i got a VME mono block... the VME is a knock off of the audiopipe amps... they use the same parts as audiopipe and everything just a cheaper company makes them.. but they last a good time.. plus u can get audiopipe to repair if anything does mess up.. since they use same parts... i got alot of amps... tell me ur budget and i can see what i got in that range

Sorry speed, but I STRONGLY disagree... JL Audio makes EXCELLENT subs, from w3 on up is gonna be worth every penny. They are power whores though. Best get a Good powerful amp to push them . I had 800w rms on one 10" w7 that set every car alarm off on my street and the spl and clarity was amazing. They key is LOTS of CLEAN power. Don't try to use a 5000w power acoustic amp that gives you closer to 500w or clean power. Choose 800-1000 watts from an alpine, kicker or jL audio amp. Just try it, if you're unsatisfied I'll buy it back from ya.

OK i have a amp for u the vme amp... just got a couple in stock... today sorry was busi today installing systems... was a man short... so in the field i go. the price for that will be 150 plus 20 for shipping... and ok not to knock jl.. But from me being in the car audio game for over ten yrs.. yes they make good amps. subs are ok.. but for the price yu paying for them. you can get some better brands.. like dd or sundown or even hertz. or tc sounds or sound splinters. come on.. keep it real... yes they power hungry subs. but the spl can be better and the sq is nothing nor close to real subs.. not trying knock who got them. but none of my customers would buy them. i have more customers asking for real audio subs. ok.. like DC.. DD Sundown Audioque, MTX, RE audio and more high end subs...
