Ms. Audio and I reserved a room in the main hotel but I wasn't told the room number.

Edit:
We won't be in the Princess Carolyn Room.

Princess Carolyn Room: This spacious, 1,000-square-feet room was the former room of Princess Carolyn, and features her original four-poster queen bed, private bath, sitting area, gas fireplace, flat-screen TV and desk, plus four large windows offering stunning mountain views.

Yes, but he won't be past the break-in period let alone be able to climb a mountain in it.

Besides, real men don't drive purple cars.

Are you going? Would love to meet you (after my son is asleep and I've had half a light beer).

BMW has a rental program for F30's, might be available in Boston if that's where you're flying into.

Check out the signed up list. Yes, I will be there in June. Freshly pedicured.

ps: BMW's on demand rental program doesn't extend to Logan.

Right now the sure thing is a 528i. Am hoping for something slightly better.

PS: Looking forward to meeting you too!

The lack of immediate response from BJ, who is normally a late night poster, is probably due to the fact that he has been turned into a slobbering mass of protoplasm.
We'll know he's at CtoC V if we spot the world's largest amoeba driving an F30.

Found this picture on the Omni Hotels Web Site when I Googled "Luxury Tower Room Mount Washington"

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&s...px%3B430%3B267

There were Luxury Tower Suites available when I booked my room so BJ should act quickly.

Best Available Rate

Take advantage of Omni's special web rate!

625 sq ft; flat screen TV, accessible by private stairwell.

Items for Auction

I am starting to accumulate some nice items for the auction.

I have two copies of Formula One at Watkins Glen by Michael Argetsinger.
Michael is the son of Cameron Argetsinger, the founder of racing at Watkins Glen. All proceeds from the original purchase of the book go to The International Motor Racing Research Center in Watkins Glen and all proceeds from the auction go to Survive the Drive so purchasing one of these books will support two worthy causes.

Ghosts of New Hampshire

I zoomed in on a photo of the Hotel Mount Washington I took last year and found that the place indeed is haunted!

I did some research and found that two of the workers who built the hotel were Professor Thaddeus Cook (who was the structural engineer) and Nunzio Machina (an Italian master mechanic). According to the story they were so involved with the place that they refused to leave when they were done with their work and it is believed that their ghosts have been seen peering from the South Tower. It is also rumored that their descendants feel compelled to visit the hotel every year.

I also found out the story about a British Goatherd that haunts the hotel is an urban (or in this case rural) legend.

The place is getting a bit of the Venetian Palazzo look. Time to catch up on a little minor exterior maintenance.

!
Apparently the roof was mysteriously repaired a few nights ago.
The staff said they heard construction noises and someone speaking Italian.
When the sun came up this is what they saw.

If you've never made Chocolate Covered bacon, or bacon wrapped around stove top stuffing soaked in maple syrup, then you have no business quoting rules

Personally, I think Furby is just posing with his bacon cuisine thing. One needs to live south of the Mason-Dixon line to truly understand bacon wrapped bacon.

Put me in as tentative now. The room block at the hotel is now full (we didn't get a return call last week despite several attempts and they just called back to say they were full).
This was the big hook to make the trip for us this year.
If Furby has enough swing to get an extra few rooms at the main hotel, we'd like one as we aren't really interested in staying at the lodge.

We will see if we can get more rooms added to the block.
