Motor Question

HI guys, Just bought a 95 740I with a 96 Engine, What was the difference? Heard the 95 had lots of trouble and when ordering anything I should say 96 engine? what engine codes should I see??? to make sure it is a 96..

Bought it for 700, 202k miles 160k on this motor..

OSV, I took the back off the current one and it was BAD, new one from Rockauto will be here tomorrow, hope to be driving smoke free..

thanks

rob s
