87 528e parts compatability

I am going to the salvage yard this weekend to try to find some parts for my 87 528e, and i was wondering whats the best way to go about finding out what parts on my car can be replaced with parts from other bimmers and more specifically which bimmers i can use parts from and also what the particulars are of the parts and specs. ive tried googling and so far no luck. at the moment im currently trying to replace the rear rotors and maybe all 4 wheels for my car if posible, but cant seam to find anything for them as far as what other bimmers parts are compatable, or even more specifically info like the dimensions of the parts and the components related to them (ie bolt size)...

First you can look at realoem.com for parts that are the same from car to car. With the brakes look on mye28.com for a chart of which brakes will fit from car to car. With the wheels, all rims from the e34, e32 will fit.
