2006 330i Sedan gas cap stuck

Has anyone out there had trouble removing the gas cap from thier E90? My wifes 06 330i sedan seems to have developed a problem with removing the cap, she could not get it to come off at the gas station yesterday and I had to really struggle with it when she got home.

Thanks,
KB

Mine got stuck once when I was about to fill up on the way home from work, not sure what the hell it was, the cold perhaps? Could have been pressure, etc. Hasn't happened since though.

When it's "clicked" when closing it after filling up, do you turn it hard, or just enough to hear the click? Could be broken as well and something's getting stuck.

I'm sure you wouldn't, but don't try to use a heat gun or anything at any point near the fuel tank.

Thanks for the response, I usually get the fuel for her so I don't know for sure what happened. Will tell her to make sure she does not overtighten past the click and since I am very fond of my eyebrows even if they are bushy, I will refrain from the heat gun!! Thanks again.

I use the acetylene torch when working on fuel problems. Takes care of those issues real quick

Best place to dispose of a lit match is actually the gas tank. The more you know.

When i bought my car (used with 13k miles on it) the records showed the gas cap had been replaced... Not sure why. The dealer said that the previous owner had "problems" with it... Wonder if there is a bad batch of caps out there...
