335i (N55) Dinan S2 Upgrade

I haven't been on this board in a while, but its time for a new purchase soon. I'm highly considering a new 335i 4 door w/sport package (I wish the sport package didn't have staggered wheel sizes ) as well as the new Infiniti Q50 hybrid, and possible even the newly refreshed Volvo S60 T6 R-Design. My question is.....has anyone on here had experience with the Dinan Stage 2 software upgrade on the N55 engine? The website lists hp as 355 @ 5300 rpm and peak torque as 401 @ 3500 rpm by simply having the reprogram done. Is this realistic and would I feel this "in the seat of my pants"? I know the Dinan program doesn't affect the BMW warranty, but do you think this would still cause maintenance issues (beyond the usual) down the road? I know it's a "mild" upgrade, but I have had so many maintenance problems with my 05 545i lately that I need a break from trips to the repair shop. I certainly wouldn't have this done when the car's brand new, it would be something I'd wait a few years on. Any and all contributions would be appreciated...

I guess this wasn't a popular question...haha. I thought it was fairly common for the N55 engine to be tuned....just thought someone on here might have some input.

the 335i sport package doesnt have staggered wheels. the msport does.

yes those #s are realistic, yes you would feel it. and yes you can get those same figures from other vendors at cheaper prices.

Dinan upgrades for the F30 haven't been released yet. They have some for the N55, but in the E9x. I emailed them a couple months ago, and they said development for the F30 N55 is being researched and should be released sometime in late spring/early summer 2013.

Not a fan. Overpriced. But people love the warranty aspect.

My blower is Dinan...except they didnt make any of it except for the bracket and ask $10,000 for it.

Thanks for the input...I got the info straight from Dinan's website, but perhaps I looked at a 2013 335i convertible mistakenly when I stated those #s. Now it makes sense that the sedan figures haven't been released yet. Regarding the price ($1999)....I didn't think that was too extreme when considering an increase of 50+ hp and 100+ torque, but perhaps there are cheaper reprogram a out there that would do the same.

Finally regarding the staggered wheels...I got my info from Motortrend's review of a 2012 335i Sport (not M-Sport). Is the Motortrend info on the staggered wheels wrong?
