Question Problem with status?

I ordered my X3 35i today with A52 (Space Grey Metallic). I registered at bmwusa.com and went to track status. Good news is that the order is in process (112). Bad news is that it's being listed as "Black Sapphire Metallic".

Is this a real issue or is it because the order is so new that the details haven't yet come over? (I don't have a VIN yet; just the production #.)

Well itīs not in production yet, so it should b no problem changing it if it is wrong :-)

This kind of errors, makes me anxious to what i will recieve due to the fact i have no tracking or getting any e-mails on status until my dealer calls me when it has arrived, which really sucks.
Cant see the problem letting all customers see the progress of their vehicle.

FWIW - I ordered on last Friday and did the same as you. It started as black that day and changed to my order color a day or 2 later and mine is not in production yet either.

Totally normal and happens all the time. The website is not accurate nor the has the most up to date information. The dealer should have given you a confirmation sheet as it was entered in their system. That is what matters, not what the BMWNA website is showing.

Perfect. Yes, I have the "Vehicle Inquiry Report" - in fact, I had to sign it to confirm all the choices were correct. That's why I was surprised to see the online data.

Thanks for the insight. I did send an email to my CA last night asking him to confirm. I feel like a bit of a fool now for not being patient.

This is totally normal. Do not depend on the BMW site for any info. It lags by atleast three days. Talk to the rep at the 1-800 # or your dealer for the most up-to-date info.

Mine was showing a different color and changed to the right one once it went into production.

Same thing happened here. Ordered a 2014 Space Gray Metallic and it is listed as an Alpine White one. Confirmed with my CA that it is indeed the gray color.

Hmmmm. So you folks call the BMW Rep on stuff like this rather than the dealer? So if I wanted to see when my order will enter production I could call?

I'd call the dealer but they weren't open yet (I'm on the west coast) so I figured I'd just call BMWNA and have them check it for me. Couldn't have been easier, and the guy I talked to was ultra-friendly and understanding

In my case they were not able to tel when it will enter production. But if it does enter production they will be the first ones to know and so does your dealer.

They can also tell you if it's in the body shop, paint shop, assembly etc, which the website does not.
