BMW 528XI series Trunck issue

BMW 528XI series Trunck
HI
I have a 528XI 2010 model
my trunk opens automatically by itself
it happenend lot 4 to 5 times
once all at night the truck got opened and it rained and my trunk was completely wet
So not sure what is issue please suggest.

You have to determine which system you have.
The optional "comfort" seating has a remote that you only have to carry to access, while the std system requires you to push the button.

either way - It sounds like the remote may be inadvertantly activated by some reason. You may be pressing the button at some point or possibly the button is faulty.

You can try to put your remotes in a metal can to see if there is any change. The metal will stop the signal. Then you can try it on each remote. IF you still have the problem then there is an issue with the car's electronics.

+1000 I used to have this happen sometimes with my key in my pocket, my house key would touch the trunk release button and "pop" I would see my trunk was open when I looked outside. If this turns our to be the case you can get a leather keyholder from BMW, I have one that I don't use, and it will keep the buttons from getting pushed all the time.
