Sqeaky Door Seals
What's the trick for dealing with noisy door seals? I've got a couple of squeaks that I'd like to take care of.
Thanks.

If it is squeaky as in rubber to metal squeaking, use Leatherique Pristine Clean on the door seals. This will lubricate the seals and stop the squeaking. Armorall also works.

The cheapest and easiest way to deal with them is, and I am not kidding here, Vaseline. Just rub some Vaseline down the length of the seals on each door and the squeal will be gone.

X2 on the Vaseline. Works great.

Vaseline will attract dirt. Use what BMW uses -- Einszett Gummi Pflege. Works fantastic and leaves no residue. You can purchase it off Amazon for around $8.

However like any coating, you'll have to reapply when the squeaking and creaking return. I don't think there's any permanent fix. Some have mentioned "teflon tape," but even that works for only so long.

Do not use silicone spray as that will make them squeak even more. You can also use Zaino CS which is also great for those roughly painted areas on the underside of the hood/trunk lids and painted areas in the engine compartment. Clean them first before applying the Zaino CS and you'll pickup a nice shine without having to go back and buff it off. Sounds like you have some chassis flex taking place. Make sure that any torsion frame supports on the underside of the vehicle are present and bolted tightly into place. You'd be amazed how shops will either leave them loose or forget/lose a bolt or two after taking it down for repair access. |

Thanks DJtoad!!!!! I had the terrible squeaks on all 4 doors. Took your recommendation and went on Amazon and bought the Gummi Pflege. Got it today and applied it to all the door seals. Worked like a charm!!! All squeaks are gone!!! Thanks again!!!
