Trailer Hitch - Possible?

Hey guys,

I realize most of us would never (ever) consider towing something behind our F01/02, but I want to see if it is possible of if anyone has done this. I am planning on taking the Ducati to Willow Springs later this spring and wanted to see the options for towing a single motorcycle trailer. Already have the trailer picked out and just need to evaluate options.

Cheers!

Did you ask your dealer? There's one on the accessories catalogue.

Just got back from Beverly Hills BMW and they informed me there are no factory trailer hitch options on any of their cars. Bummer!

I have a 2011 750il, and I am looking for a hitch to use for a bike rack. My searches have also come up empty, so I contacted Curt Mfg (hitch mfg) and they said they do not have a car to testfit/design the hitch around. They are in WI and MI and I do go to MI for work occasionally, so I left my info for a call back from the correct team who sets that stuff up. I will report back if i get a call back, and am able to use my car for test fitting.

Just now seeing this thread. Unfortunately, we have never had a 7 Series in for fitment of an invisihitch. We fit just about every other BMW, so I'm not sure why. I assume lack of market demand. 3 Series owners attach a lot of things to their vehicles, 5 Series owners do significantly less of that, and I assume it drops off significantly again for 7 Series owners. Still, we would be happy to develop an invisihitch for the 7 Series; we have just never had a local (Atlanta) customer who wanted one so we have not had this vehicle in for a fitment. The local BMW dealers here are great to work with, so I will see if we can possibly borrow a 7 Series.

It took a week to get mine from Europe. They call if a towbar.

593.00 EUR to Transportsysteme24 GmbH.

http://www.transportsysteme24.de

I had to use google translate a few times, but typing in F02 got be the correct product.

The installer did have to make one custom modification, chop off the European ball and weld a US style 1 inch receiver onto the removable towbar part.
