Koni FSD front shock to uppermount clearance

I purchased new Koni shocks and struts for my 07- 335i and I also purchased new upper mounts too, I put the upper mounts on the struts and they dont fit as snug as I thought they should, measured the bearing Id and the OD of the strut shaft where they sit and there is min of .010 thousands clearance, the upper mounts are OEM BMW parts, until I get the others off I wont know if this is OK, shouldnt they be a clearance fit, like 001 to 002 thou clearance?

Both the od of the strut and the id of the mount will have slight variations in their diameter. These are the manufacturing tolerances. To assure that a slightly large strut will still fit in a mount that is slightly small, a clearance is designed into the fit between the parts.
IMHO, 0.010" sounds just right for this application.

I ended up calling TH motorsports and they said it was ok too
