Mein Auto: 2008 BMW 750Li
Just purchased a 2008 750Li Sport, Need a few pointers

Picked up a certified 2008 BMW 750LI sport the other day pretty loaded and there are a few things that I need to have the dealer correct. Maybe you all could help if you have seen these issues before?

The leather is coming up in the back windows not (noticeable till you look in the bottom of the window) but it is interfering and not letting the shade go down. A dip of a friend also freaked out when she saw the shade folding outside the catch and knocked the shade off of the motor latch... Anyways is there anyway to fix this easily? looks like the leather just needs to be tacked down... Also the right side shade on bigger portion of the window was taken off completely (motor units still in place)...

Next there was a crack in the navigation screen from transport? The dealer agreed to replace.

Lastly the second key I received is not programmed for the convenient access? How do I program it?

Seems like the leather has shrunken so you should just be able to go to any automotive upholstery shop they'll be able to take out the rear deck And heat and reglue it and put it back in the car that should solve that problem and any locksmith should be able to reprogram your fob or dealer

Crack in the navigation screen from transport?.....uh no, unless someone punched it. Look closely elsewhere as to how the car was treated!

The car is actually in crazy great shape besides the leather on the inside/bottom of the windows and nav screen. The paint doesnt have any swirl marks from washing, not a single scratch or dent. Looks brand new and for me to say that is rare because I am very type A about any flaws.

Thanks for the recommendation. The dealership I bought it from said it would cover anything foundwrong over $500 so I know they are taking care of the navigation screen and hopefully they will take care of the window screens as well! Wouldn't you expect that to be done?

Haha I know what you mean!!! I have been most likely their most difficult customer! Back in January when I started this car buying process I had been approved and ready to go on an Audi Q7 4.2 and while i was waiting on them they sold the car out from under me... We had purchased 3 other vehicles from this dealership (2 Cadillac Escalades and a 08' CTS D.I) in the last 4 years and so I went into the dealership manager with my mom and made sure they were going to correct their mistake. They had to search for over a month and after not finding any Q7 prestige's I found the 750Li and asked them to jump on it. They had it shipped from the BMW dealership in California the next day and I picked it up this last Wednesday.

I pointed out the Nav screen at delivery and they said they would take care of it and found the screens on the drive home and gave them a call. I will make sure to stay on top of it as I assume the screens would be an expensive fix given it's a 7 series.

Pics of the screens? or the caddi trucks? haha Also I loved the Q7 with the panorma sun roof and sun roof in the third row as well, the size and capabilities were great and the technology was top notch as well. Really enjoyed driving the car too the 4.2 V8 was pretty powerful to move such a heavy SUV

The dealership just ordered the new navigation unit it is a special order part and will arrive in 7-10 buisness days. Still waiting on the call regarding the shades... The full roof of glass was beautiful and made the car really feel spacious but the Audi Q7 also has a major design flaw that water does not drain properly and will take a path directly to the computer modules... Fries them all. Had this happen to my moms boyfriends 2007 Audi Q7 3.6. I just went to take pics

Is there any way to get the new remote to be programmed to the convient access??? It has the rechargeable battery on the back so I know they key is ready to just be programmed. Also we received a large amount of rainfall today and the roads were somewhat flooding and very slick. Does turning on DTC improve traction? I didnt quite understand if it helped gain traction or make the car more sporty

If the car is indeed cpo'd which i dont believe it is, as dealers wont cpo an 08 at this point. It could still have some cpo warrty left which would still be great. The panel should be covered it happened on mine at around 20k miles and the dealer put a new door panel on the car. The fob battery is prob dead radiopshack carries the battery its under 10.00.

The car has an ACTIVE CPO as it was CPO'ed in 2011 and will end in 2014. The car is currently certified. Thanks for the tip at this point im still waiting for the dealer I purchased it from to fix it as I just got it this last week and they agreed to fix things that were found. Also the remote is not dead as it is a brand new key not an old one that doesnt work. The dealer when they made the new key did not program it to the car something we had to go through with the monaco blue 750i we have. Thanks for the tips!
